Interesting collection of 26 engravings taken from inventions and paintings by Marco Ricci, belonging to two of the main eighteenth-century calcographic enterprises dedicated to the diffusion of the work of the great Belluno landscaper. The main nucleus is constituted by the etchings of Giuliano Marco Giampiccoli, grandson for maternal part of Ricci and his main interpreter engraving, belonging to the famous collection commissioned by the merchant Bartolomeo Zucconi. The company, completed in the plates by 1739 and published by Giampiccoli himself in 1740, includes in its first edition 36 landscapes divided into two series of eighteen tables like our series; the figures that animate some compositions are traditionally traced back to the intervention of Giambattista Tiepolo. To this nucleus are added six tables of the series of twenty-four landscapes engraved by Davide Antonio Fossati and published in Venice in 1743. Realized at short chronological distance, the two companies bear witness to the early graphic fortune of Ricci's landscape inventions and their circulation in the Venetian collectible environment of the 18th century. 26 total etchings (330x 430 c.a. sheets) Mounted on passepartouts (some defects).
