Interesting signed autograph letter of Victor Hugo, addressed to an unidentified "Monsieur" in which the writer intervenes in favor of an unnamed person, accompanying the sending of two letters and suggesting to obtain the support of Camille Paganel (1795-1859): "Si M. Paganell veut bien se joindre à nous, je crois que cache servirait grandement" . As an alternative, Hugo recommends that the two letters be sent immediately to the Ministry of the Interior, united in a single envelope addressed to Edmond Leclerc, chief of staff. Of particular interest is the final passage, in which Hugo accompanies his intervention with a political and moral consideration: "Ayez bon espoir," Monsieur. Les positions extrêmes ne sont jamais durables. Dieu est du parti de ceux qui souffrent. He concludes by asking the recipient to present his tributes to Madame de Charmont and by guaranteeing him his "sentimens très distingués" , a bibiolio manuscript in French, dated at the foot of "Août" and signed "Victor Hugo" .
