Interesting example of work for a planned reprint, never published, of the monograph on Massimo Campigli published by Il Collezionista in 1969, one of the main monographs dedicated to the artist and still regularly cited in the bibliography of his works. This draft documents the process of preparing the new edition scheduled for 1971: the texts of the original edition and the illustrations are cut out and applied on mounting sheets, with corrections, handwritten indications, numbering and typographical instructions for the new layout. Many manuscript interventions indicate the intended placement of the illustrations and changes to the layout, giving a rare material testimony of the genesis of an editorial project that remained at the preparatory stage.
