[MURANO - CAPELLIN, ZECCHIN, SCARPA]. Collection of about twenty original photographs of the lighting production of M.V.M. Cappellin and C. Murano, ca. 1925-1930. Important set of original photographs made as promotional material of the M.V.M. Cappellin and C., representing elegant rooms furnished with the famous chandeliers of the manufacture. The images document the activity of the furnace during the years in which it was located in the historic Palazzo Da Mula in Murano. Founded in 1925 by Giacomo Cappellin, the M.V.M. represented one of the summits of the renewal of Murano glass of the twentieth century. The artistic direction was initially entrusted to Vittorio Zecchin, promoter of a return to the formal purity of the Venetian Renaissance glass, then to the young Carlo Scarpa, who introduced new chromatic and compositional experiments. The chandeliers depicted here probably belong to this phase of transition between the two protagonists of Italian design. All the photographs bear the original stamp of the M.V.M. Cappellin and C., an element that confirms its company origin and documentary character.
